Tore K. Kvien, MD, PhD
has been head of the Department of Rheumatology at Diakonhjemmet Hospital, Oslo, Norway since 1994 and professor of rheumatology at the University of Oslo since 1997. Throughout his career, Professor Kvien has made major contributions to the development and validation of important tools for the assessment of rheumatic diseases (patient-reported outcomes, clinical measures and tools based on imaging modalities).
Professor Kvien has been author on about 500 peer-reviewed publications. He has been editor-in-chief of Annals of Rheumatic Diseases since 2008, was president of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) from 2005 to 2007 and has been the principle investigator of the Norwegian government financed biosimilar switching study (NOR-SWITCH).
